Abstract
Situational English Level II: Mastering English in Real Life Context is the second textbook that introduces the four skills and the tool of English Language in meaningful situational contexts. The author of this coursebook implements the situational gradational approach by utilizing thematically related reading passages and dialogues to introduce high frequency vocabulary that enriches students’ lexical competency. Thus, they will be capable of satisfying students’ academic and daily life needs through providing them with these lexical items.
From another perspective, this book build on the previous book by continuing supporting students with many syntactic structures that empower them to construct multi-tiered sentences and expressions. The book consists of 12 chapters as the first two chapters drill on the previously taught structural constructions through providing multi-level diverse exercises that conform with the brain learning strategies. The other chapters continue teaching students the skills and the tools of the English language by integrating more passages and dialogues that are used as threshold to practice listening and reading skills along with lexical and parts of speech exercises. More importantly, this textbook introduces gradually more advanced lexical and syntactic topics in various manners as it integrates various vocabulary exercises derived from The General Service Word List (GSL), Academic Word List (AWL) and University Word (UW) that enable students to practice them in lifelike situations.
In a nutshell, this book is a learner-based textbook that aims to enrich students’ lexical and syntactic base for fostering individual learners who can master language to express their social needs and academic requirements.
